Varanasi (UP): Comprehensive security and administrative measures are in place in Varanasi as Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares for a two-day visit to his parliamentary constituency starting Friday evening.
During this trip, he is set to inaugurate four new Vande Bharat Express trains that will link significant cities across India.
Officials have confirmed that the Prime Minister will land at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Babatpur around 5 PM on Friday. From there, he will proceed by road to Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW), where he will spend the night.
On Saturday morning, at approximately 8:15 AM, Modi will launch the four Vande Bharat Express trains from the Banaras railway station. These semi-high-speed trains will serve the routes of Banaras-Khajuraho, Lucknow-Saharanpur, Firozpur-Delhi, and Ernakulam-Bengaluru.
The Banaras-Khajuraho service will connect key cultural and religious sites, including Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Chitrakoot, according to officials.
Following the flag-off event, Modi will take a helicopter to Babatpur Airport and depart for Darbhanga, Bihar, around 9:15 AM.
In preparation for the Prime Minister's arrival, the city has been decorated extensively. BJP officials have organized a grand reception at various points along his route, including Sant Atulanand Bypass, near JP Mehta, the BLW FCI godown, and close to the BLW gate.
Commissioner of Police Mohit Agarwal stated that a three-tier security system has been established for the visit. The entire route has been designated as a 'no-flying zone,' with CCTV and drone surveillance ensuring continuous monitoring.
All police personnel assigned to duty must carry their identification at all times. No vehicles will be permitted to stop along the Prime Minister's route, and rooftop security measures have also been implemented. Entry to the venue will only be allowed after thorough security checks.
Special arrangements for the frisking of women will be conducted by female police officers, and officials on duty will be equipped with loudspeakers and public address systems to manage the crowd effectively.
